Music and emotions
By Edith López
It was the song “Live
is Life” by Opus that made me feel very excited when I first heard it. It gave me chills at my young age of 5
years. Everything about the song made me feel very emotional, and even now I
still feel the same. Everyone has a similar story with a song, it can be a
happy or sad emotion, but it makes us
feel something.
When I was in high school it was music that made me happy and relaxed, when no one could make me happy. For me, music is an important part of my life, not because I like it, but because it make me feel so many emotions and remember many moments of my life.
According to Justin P.N. (2001) it is music who can bring back
emotional experiences, which can make us feel emotions since memories
can be very vivid. Music accompanies us through our lives and it is very common
that a song remains us of a time of our life, a party, a person, etc.
According to Heid M. (2018) is necessary to choose
the correct music in order to feel happy or have a positive emotion. Listening
to a random song can make us feel stressed. People have different music tastes,
so not everyone will feel the same if you put a balad or rock music. Some must
feel bored, while other people may feel relaxed and happy while listening
balads; and with rock music, some people may feel happy, powerful, free, etc.,
while others may feel stressed because of its sounds. Because of this, it is
necessary to know the peoples’ tastes to choose the right music adapted to the
situationit is necessary to know a person’s choose the correct music for each person
in order to feel something.
